Parliament is not so powerful as compared to British counter part due to:

1. Written nature of the constitution.
2. Doctrine of the basic structure of the constitution
3. Doctrine of the Judicial review.
4. Federal system of government
5. List system and the powers of Union and states are predetermined
6. Fundamental rights cannot be violated as per article 13.
