ICC Odisha gets new office-bearers

The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Odisha State Council organised its Annual General Meeting (AGM), in which its new team was inducted.

JB Pany, Director, Javastra Technology Pvt Ltd; Rajib Sekhar Sahoo, Chartered Accountant and Principal partner, SRB & Associates; and M K Gupta, Managing Director, Gupta Power Ltd (GPIL); were appointed as new chairman, senior vice-chairman and vice-chairman of the State Council for the year 2023-24.

The new office-bearers said they would work closely with the State Government to make Odisha a preferred destination for investors.

Odisha is the manufacturing hub of East India, with the state GSDP Growth surpassing the national GDP growth rate of India. It is the heartland of Indias mineral deposits and one of the most happening places for start-ups. Odisha is also recognised as a leader in the implementation of business reforms by DIPP and the World Bank.

The ICC living up to its new theme of Governance for Growth actively promotes sustainable growth initiatives throughout the country and abroad connecting the hinterlands of India to the highways of global growth.

The ICC initiatives in Odisha pan a cross section of business and economic activities in the State.

Namami Gange Flagship Programme Passed 8 Projects, Outlays Rs 638 Crore to Revive National River

The Ministry of Jal Shakti has recently announced 8 projects for the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) under the Government of India. In a 48th meeting that was held on April 18, 2023 (Tuesday) between members of the Executive Committee of NMCG, the mission has been decided for an amount of Rs 638 crore.

This flagship programme was first brought up in June 2014 funding Rs 20,000 crore. This was launched to rejuvenate Goddess Ganga and at the same time subside pollution levels. Along with the mission to clear the National River Ganga, the officials also approved 4 projects worth Rs 407.39 crore to polish River Hindon.

RAPIDX name given to Regional Rail with Minimum Travelling Time, To Operate on RRTS Corridors

The National Transport Corporation launched the first-ever Rapid Rail in the country. Its name has been decided as RAPIDX. This metro will run on the RRTS Corridors

Also, the letter X in RAPIDX is to signify the next-age technology which has been used in order to ensure a comfortable and fast ride.

The Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridors are a new concept which is somewhat different from the traditional forms of Railways. RRTS Corridors provide high speed and capabilities.

Ministry of Health plans to launch 100 Food Streets Nationwide

The Union Health Ministry and the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs have made a noteworthy and inventive decision to urge states and Union Territories to establish 100 food streets in 100 districts throughout the country. This pilot project is intended to serve as a model for other streets to follow and promote hygienic and safe food practices

The objective of this initiative is to encourage food businesses and community members to adopt safe and healthy food practices, ultimately leading to a decrease in foodborne illnesses and an enhancement in overall health outcomes

AI Robot ‘ChaosGPT’ Plans to Wipe Out Human Population,

After so many people admired multiple versions of ChatGPTs, its darker side cannot be left out. OpenAI’s ChatGPT has been in the limelight for quite some time. However, this new (AI) Chatbot named ‘ChaosGPT’ is again flooded with reviews by people around the world.

A public post by a Twitter account with the same name, ‘ChaosGPT’ reveals that it has intentions to eradicate the human race. It also warns the world by saying that “Human beings are among the most destructive and selfish creatures in existence”. The chatbot further concluded that it is committed to removing humanity from Earth.

World Malaria Day 2023 observed on 25th April

World Malaria Day (WMD) is an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global efforts to control malaria. The aim of World Malaria Day is to raise awareness of the devastating impact of malaria and to mobilize Resources and support for malaria control and prevention programs in endemic countries. The day serves as an opportunity for individuals, organizations, and governments to come together and renew their commitment to eliminating malaria, which is a preventable and treatable disease

World Malaria Day 2023 will be marked under the theme Time to deliver zero malaria: invest, innovate, implement. Within this theme, WHO will focus on the third i implement and notably the critical importance of reaching marginalized populations with the tools and strategies that are available today.
