The state government has set March 2021 as deadline to complete infrastructure works at the Aluminium Park, Angul, a joint venture of Nalco and Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco).

Spread over 223 acres, the proposed Aluminium Park is considered as a major infrastructure boost for the aluminum downstream industries. Investors in the Aluminium Park will directly obtain molten aluminium from the Nalco’s smelter. A number of investors have evinced interest to set up their facilities in the proposed aluminium park.

The project is being developed at a cost of Rs 99.60 crore, including a central grant of Rs 33.44 crore.

The Centre accorded approval to the project in August, 2015. The aluminium park will have some exclusive common facilities for the investors like aluminium product evaluation centre with full-fledged tool room, testing facilities and evaluation and prototype development facilities.
